Funniest thing...

Solly just saw his photo on this blog and he waved...then he started going 'woof' like he does when he sees a dog!!!

Updates on the Munchkin

Life's been pretty cruisie for the last few weeks. Solomon has gotten over his allergic reactions and is getting on with life. He's quite the happy chap. He is also starting to get around a little more. He spends a bit of time on his belly and does 360's on the ground as well as manouvering around the room, although he gets cranky when he can't get somewhere fast enough. It wasn't like that when I was a kid.
Not much else is happening. Solomon is still going to the creche at the gym and enjoys watching the other kids as well as exploring his interest in the elmo guitar. He is still sleeping really well and doesn't complain much.
He has started to dance and does it on his change table because it rocks when he grooves away.
Life is pretty sweet with my little one. He is at a beautiful age and I love hanging out with the little fella. I'm glad I'm not going back to work because I'm having so much fun!

Solomon's Sick

If its not one thing its another...
On Wednesday we rushed Solomon to the doctor because the night before he was chest and back was covered in hives...big white spots that looked like mosquito bites, but with a red rash around them. We were a little worried, but he seemed fine so we put him to bed and he slept OK. The next day he was good in the morning, but after his afternoon sleep he woke up screaming, it was like he had a really sore belly and needed to poo. So I took his nappy off and I massaged his belly and legs. A couple of minutes later, with a loud scream he pushed the biggest poo I have ever seen out. He was OK for a little while but not long after his body temperature rose and his skin went bright red, and his toes and fingers were purple. And he began to scream some more. So we rushed him to the doctor who said that he was experiencing an allergic reaction to something. In the car he was shaking and still and when we got home he vomited everywhere twice.
I don't know what he is allergic to because I didn't see him eat anything out of the ordinary. But this just adds to the list of things. He is intollerant to dairy products as his eczma flairs up, he has an anal fissure, he had perianal selulitis and now this. He is also only a little boy and some people are worried about his weight gain, as he is only 8kg and has been for a couple of months now.
So please pray that by the time he is 12 months he can get rid of all these things!!!
We are just so blessed to have such a happy little champion, because even with all these things he is always giving us the most precious smiles and loves to laugh.

Drama's in February

This last weekend has been a whirlwind! On Saturday Tom and Phil spent the day putting a new sound system into Tom's car. While they were doing that I went into the bathroom wondering where the smell of urine was coming from and why our bathmat was wet. Then I flushed the button and the toilet drain started to bubble up. So I went out the backyard to where the sewerage pipe was and took off the lid. As I took off the lid water was gushing out the side and this massive poo floated to the top...so of course I screamed my little lungs out, ran around the corner screaming that there was a poo! Anyway, we called the plumber and they cleaned out the drains and all has been good since...although I don't know where the poo went!
Later on that evening Phillip and I were about to go out to drop Solomon off at his Nana's house while we went out on the town. We were going to go to the Multicultural Festival in the city but just before we left I checked the weather on the internet and decided that there was going to be rain so we'd just go to the club for some drinks instead. But just as we were about to leave the rain hit...and it hit hard. Within a couple of minutes the roof started to leak in our sun room where the computer, couches and my desk is situated. I started to unplug what I could of electrical things and took them into the lounge room and as I was doing this the roof started to leak more. By the time the electrical things were out we had to get rid of everything else in the room because the whole place was like one big waterfall. It rained heavily for over an hour. The backyard flooded and began seeping into Sam's bedroom. And our courtyard was about 30cm deep. And the skylight in the kitchen was leaking too. It was crazy. And all this time Solly was sitting on the floor in the lounge having a winge because he needed to go to bed. Once the rain slowed and the roof wasn't raining we put Solomon to bed and spend the next hour mopping up the water. Now we've got a big blower until Tuesday to dry out the carpet.
We didn't go out that night.
