So here we see Solomon ready for his first dip in the Ocean...and he fell asleep straight after his big adventure.
And we also have Solly's first taste of food other than boobie milk.

Beach & Other Stuff

Well, I'm trying to upload photos. We'll see if it happens or not. So, until then I'll tell you about our trip to the coast...
As Phillip is a teacher he gets 2 weeks holidays in between terms. So we had a week at the coast with Phil's sister Karen and her family. They have a lovely house in Tomakin. It was a great relaxing week where we didn't do a whole lot except for sit in the sun on the balcony and read the newspaper, go for short walks, visit neighbouring towns and we even had a couple of dips in the ocean. Solly had his first and only dip on the day it was 30 degrees outside, so it was hot enough to swim, but lets just say it is no Queensland water, as it was so cold! Solly just squeeled like a little girl with just his feet in, but we thought we should do the emerse, so we dunked him quickly. He screamed again and we wrapped him in a towel as he calmed down. Within minutes he was asleep in Phil's arms...I guess it is a pretty big day when you have your first swim in the ocean.
Anyway, other news. Solly has started solids. He eats rice cereal with breast milk. Not very exciting at the moment. We might do some fruit and vegie shopping next week so he can get a bit more variety in his diet. But as he has skin problems, it makes him more prone to allergies, so we have to go and see the nurse before we get a bit too advanced with his eating. He eats pretty well, although he often sticks his tongue out and has a bit of a spit. He's also started to chat a bit. He often says mumumumum, which I am very excited about. He is also sitting really well. He is growing up so quickly and every couple of days it seems like he is doing something new. It is so exciting.
Tonight I also booked Solomon and my tickets to Brisvagas for when my folks come to Australia. They are spending a week in Canberra and then we are all travelling up to Queensland for a week at the beach. It'll be Solly's first trip on the plane (out of the womb), and he'll get to meet his Great Grandparents for the first time. I'm looking forward to it.
And it looks like the photos don't want to load again, so I'll try again later. i'll keep you posted.

NRL Grand Final and Solly's first roll

GO YOU BRONCOS!!!
Well, we went to the NRL Grand Final in Sydney on the 1 October. Phillip, Solomon and I drove up on the Saturday and spent Sunday morning shopping at the DFO's. Tom, Sam & Kell drove up on Sunday morning and they picked up our uncle Nick and we walked to the Stadium at about 3pm. It was great because, as you can see we were all wearing maroon and gold. Tom bought our tickets and couldn't get six together, so Me, Phil and Solly were on one side of the stadium and they were on the other side. But we still had a pretty good view. We watched the thrilling reserve grade final first and then Solly went to sleep for about 40 minutes during the prematch entertainment, which was really dull. But he woke up for the big game...Brisbane Broncos v Melbourne Storm. It was a great game, with a great result and it is one thing that Solly can tick off his life list. He was such a good boy, except when he spat his dummy out at one of the ladies infront. It was a long day for solly but it was a great night!
Last Thursday Solomon rolled for the first time from his front to back. I put him on a water mat on the floor which Leanne, Phil's sister, gave to us. I put him on his belly on it and went to stir the dinner and Phil went to put something away in our room, and when Phil came back less than 30 seconds later, Solomon was on his back. So neither of us saw him do it. But the water mat has been a godsend, as he doesn't mind being on his belly as much. He used to scream as soon as he went down. Now he looks around and lifts his head high and after a minute or two, will start to scream. But a minute or two is better than nothing! But yesterday was the excitement of my life, as Solly rolled about 10 times. I put him on his belly and he would push himself up and over both to his left and right. What a good boy! It's a shame that Phil was away this weekend and missed it. I got it on video so all is good.
Solly has also started to sit up on his own. He'll sit for a minute or two at a time. So he is developing really well. We are also considering starting him on solids soon. He plays with a sippy cup at the moment but once Phil goes back to work we'll start him I guess. So that'll be the goss probably when I post my next blog.
