January 2007
What a month January has been! It's been great having Phil on holidays for the last 5 weeks, but I'm kinda glad he's gone back to work now as he is as demanding as Solomon on some days. He constantly needs to be entertained! So, we went camping over new years as I mentioned in my previous blog and afterwards we had a week in Canberra and then we went to Bathurst for a retreat called Summer School that our church was running for the week. It was a great week, particularly since we didn't do a whole lot. Our mornings were spent doing lectures or looking after Solomon and the afternoons consisted of swimming in the schools 50 metre pool, which was wonderful as the days were all above 30 degrees.
During the week in Bathurst we realised we didn't have to be back in Canberra for anything so we decided to spend a couple of days in Sydney. So we drove to Sydney on the Sunday afternoon, straight from Bathurst, and stayed with Phil's cousins in Homebush Bay.
Over the next few days we spent shopping and swimming in Manly (we also ran into our next door neighbour John running along Manly beach!), we went shopping at Ikea and visited friends in Baulkum Hills. But the highlight was catching up with my Uncle Dan and his family as my Granma was spending a few days with them from Brisbane, which was very exciting.
We got home and life was spent getting Phil ready for school and trying to get back into some routine. Phil is back at school now and I'm left wondering what I can do as with Phil at home there was always something to do. Oh well, we'll see what this year brings!
